10,000 hours of practice
According to the book Outliers, it takes people about 10,000 hours of practice at one particular thing to master it. Sports, musical instruments, etc. Brooklynn has been playing soccer for 4 seasons now. Now at the age almost 8 years old, it is time to pick a position and start that 10,000 hours of practice. Today, her coach has placed her in the goalie position for 3 reasons. 1. Brooklynn LOVES playing defense 2. Brooklynn's height and reach will be perfect 3. Brooklynn is actually good at it Since 10,000 hours comes down to about 10 years of practice, I have put her into 2 leagues this season.
