NYC Trip- day I

Image
Today, I headed to New York today for work. Unlike my last work-trip, I had to leave Bstarr behind so that I could actually work this trip. Although I have been on numerous business trips before, it was difficult to leave this time because Bstarr was illin'. Poor little thing. After the 5 hour flight on Virgin Airlines, I arrived in NY. This was my first trip there during the summer and I was anxious to experience all of the hype I had been hearing from girlfriends. As I stepped off the plane, I was overcome with excitement. There was so much to do and see over the next 4 days that I wasn't looking forward to sleeping. After a call to Bstarr and a short cab ride during commute time, I arrived at the hotel where I quickly freshened up, and I was off to walk the city. First stop was a favorite wine bar by Rockefeller Center, Morrell (www.morrellwinebar.com) then to grub on some Japanese food at Hatsuhana Sushi (www.hatsuhana.com) then desert at Serendipity3 (www.serendipi...

Fair (and Bad) Weather Fans

Image
After two soccer games in the rain this morning, B* and I were able to make it to the Giants vs. Rockies game by the top of the 5th.  Bundled up to withstand the rain, we watched our beloved team lose to Colorado.  Actually, scratch that.  I watched the Giants lose, B* watched the fans, video screens, concessionaires, Lou Seal, etc.  She had such a great time at the ball park she's definitely looking forward to the next game- where there will be fireworks.  LOL. I'm glad we stood the rain and went to the game.  It was a great Saturday together. Go, Giants!

Taking My Time

Image
I'm taking my time.  Time to think about the past, the present, and the future.   Time to think about Brooklynn.  About me.  Time to volunteer at her school.  Time to listen rather than rush.  Time to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Time to enjoy these years. Because time is running out.  Time to breathe. Time to sleep in. Time to walk away. Time to run. Time to recycle the old and start buying the old, too.  Time to plan that cafe. Time to just do it. Time to take my time and enjoy being loved. Time to feel music and depict words. Time to feel free. To just be.

SF Giants Fan Fest

Image
Brooklynn and I went to our very first SF Giants Fan Fest today.  Although we were prepared for bad weather (it has been raining all week), to our surprise the weather was perfect.  It turned out to be a gorgeous day in San Francisco.  We started off with a good ol' all-american breakfast at... Denny's. Brooklynn's choice.  We split the chicken fried steak and eggs (our usual whenever at Denny's), scarfed it down, and set off to San Francisco.   Brooklynn loves going to the city. We usually BART, but today we decided to drive and after struggling to find free parking, I remembered why we BARTed so often.   Once parked and into the ballpark, we had a great time walking through the player's clubhouse (aka locker room), goofing around in the press boxes, playing tag on the field, and checking out the players BTW- Brian Wilson is looking good this year. Hubba hubba. *wink*   Brooklynn also got the chance to showoff her gangster hitting skills in the Kids Zone.  After sh...
