NYC Trip- day I

Today, I headed to New York today for work. Unlike my last work-trip, I had to leave Bstarr behind so that I could actually work this trip. Although I have been on numerous business trips before, it was difficult to leave this time because Bstarr was illin'. Poor little thing.

After the 5 hour flight on Virgin Airlines, I arrived in NY. This was my first trip there during the summer and I was anxious to experience all of the hype I had been hearing from girlfriends. As I stepped off the plane, I was overcome with excitement. There was so much to do and see over the next 4 days that I wasn't looking forward to sleeping. After a call to Bstarr and a short cab ride during commute time, I arrived at the hotel where I quickly freshened up, and I was off to walk the city. First stop was a favorite wine bar by Rockefeller Center, Morrell (www.morrellwinebar.com) then to grub on some Japanese food at Hatsuhana Sushi (www.hatsuhana.com) then desert at Serendipity3 (www.serendipity3.com).
Muscat (forgot the name/appellation) + Invictus, Los Carneros, Chardonnay 2004
@ Morrell Wine Bar

Sake + Pinot Grigi0 + Salmon Carpoccio + Sashima Chef's Choice + spicy tuna roll
@ Hatsuhana Sushi

Coffee + soda + strawberry fields @ Serendipity3

The desert @ Serendipity was a perfect way to end my first day in the Big City... sweet! Thankfully, there was a decent walk back to the hotel so I could walk off all the calories I had packed in the few hours I had been in town. It was past midnight, so I washed up, set the alarm, and went to bed. The anticipation of the next day made it difficult to fall asleep, but I finally drifted off to dreams of... Zzzzzzz.
