Death Cab for Cutie

Although I had planned to the Greek Theatre in Berkeley early to partake in an afternoon picnic on the grassy area, we arrived fairly late BUT just in time for the performance.  We watched as the sunset cast an amazing blend of the most romantic colors behind the stage. The view and music was captivating.

Sometimes you come across bands that just move your soul. Perhaps its the time, your mood, your age, or your mood.  For whatever reason it is, Death Cab for Cutie has become one of those bands for me.  Apparently band is made up of mathematicians and their words, music, etc. are carefully constructed to reach perfection.  The lead vocals almost always bring a tear to my eye.  Perhaps it's the honesty mixed in with the extreme hesitancy and mysteriousness that grabs me.  The combination is perfect.

The experience encouraged me to try my first stab at painting.  I had envisioned this to be so much more than one layer of paint, but when the first layer went on, I realized it was perfect. Somehow, it captured the colors, feelings, and the first layer of falling in love with music*.
