Brooklynn in New York: Day Three

How wonderful!  This morning we awoke to hot chocolate, a double tall vanilla mocha, and breakfast.  Awwwwww....

Today I only had to work until noon (thanks, Mike!) and I was able to meet up with Brooklynn at the MET in Central Park. By the time I got there, she had already taken her fill on another museum, purchased her souvenier, and was ready for lunch.  I had New York pizza and beer on the brain but it required a fair amount of walking to get to Ray's, so Brookie got her favorite snack in New York thus far- a hot dog from the hot dog cart.  Don't ask...

After a nice stroll through Central Park's Strawberry Fields, we made it to another New York fave of Brookie's- the subway.

After delicious Ray's pizza (totally recommend the white pizza, yum!) we made our way back to the hotel where we all took a nap before the big night.  Although the nap was quick and short, we all put on our fancy clothes and headed to Broadway!

Before coming to New York, I gave Brooklynn the choice between two Broadway shows- The Littler Mermaid or The Lion King.  To my delight, she chose the award-winning musical, The Lion King.  Brooklynn has recently become a big fan of the theatre (she most recently saw Wicked) and hopes to attend a theatre summer camp soon, so I am very happy to fuel her love for the theatre. Since my only other Broadway experience was Spam A Lot, I was eager to enjoy my second play.

Brooklynn LOVED the performance.  Both the music and visuals were a perfect mixture for her first experience on Broadway.  After purchasing a Lion King snow globe to add to her collection, the night was ALMOST ruined when I wouldn't let her take a $20 polaroid with a cast member.  Doh!

It was getting late and everyone was getting a bit tired and grouchy, so we headed to The Brooklyn Diner for a late dinner.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel room to wash up and pass out.  After all the walking, food, and taking in of the city we all started to feel a bit tired.  Tomorrow we are supposed to be at the Statue of Liberty by 8am. Considering it's already midnight, I wonder if we will make it.
