A Pick-Me-Up

Lately, I had been getting a little discouraged with my new work-from-home gig. It's been a little over a month since I started the new job and things weren't moving as fast as I had hoped. I was starting to feel disconnected from my colleagues/office in New York and I had also gotten a bit lacksidasical. And, as I do every so often, I was beginning to have doubts about my skill, my intelligence, my competency, etc. When I'm in this mood I tend to pull away from social situations even more. I haven't spoken to my girlfriends much, haven't called Mentor in some time, and I haven't visited family much either.

Today I met an old friend from my industry for lunch. As always, I started off uneasy about meeting up in a social situation. I thought of at least five different reasons to cancel; however I had already canceled our lunch the month prior so I was stuck. Lunch it is. After the initial small talk we began to discuss what makes us happy, our families, and our jobs. It didn't take long for me to realize that I am living the dream right now.

My entire life I have discounted myself. I am the epitomy of self-deprication. I do not take compliments well and I rarely think I deserve good things that come my way. I feel guilty about everything and I am too concerned with what others think of me. I'd like to try and change these things about myself. I'd like to believe in myself, because on the rare occasion that I do, I've done great things.

I am living the dream. And I deserve it. Cheers!

--Hooray! I do think you deserve all the compliments and need to be concerned less about what others will think or expect if it goes against something that would make you happy. Confidence is one thing I would love to help you with.

You do, do great things and deserve great things. =]
