The Huntington Library

Image
The Huntington Library in Pasadena is absolutely gorgeous. With so many different gardens, you can wonder around for hours and hours. Brooklynn and I had such a good time walking through the Japanese Tea Gardens, sipping on tea in the tea room, and catching up on life with one another. When we visited The Huntington, they were just finishing up the Chinese Garden. What better reason than to go back?

Gavin, Gavin, Gavin

Everyone is just mad about Gavin, especially Brooklynn. She loves him so much. All she wants to do is be around him at all times. He's the first thing on her mind in the morning and the last thing she thinks about before she falls asleep. Gavin is one lucky cousin.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you.

Trojans and Bears

In LA, again, for the big USC vs. UCLA rivalry game. We ended up going to a friend's house party where we proceeded to tease and taunt all of the fans. We really just went there for the free alcohol. Whose house is this anyways???

NYC Trip 2007

Image
This is my second trip to New York, so I had a bit more time to enjoy the city. I ate at fantastic restaurants like Jean Georges with a quintessential New York view of Central Park, Nobu, Mario Batali's Del Posto, famous Carnegie Deli (where When Harry Met Sally Was Filmed) for their cornbeef sandwiches, and many more. I shopped my little heart out, club-hopped, rode the subway, and visited The Empire State Building. It's also always nice to see one of my life-long friends, Rod. I rarely get to see him and we don't talk as much as I would like, but when I am with him it's like we pick up exactly where we left off without skipping a beat. Liberty and Rod have been my BFFs forever, so it's special for me to share things like trips to New York with them. 16+ years of memories and they still keep coming. xoxo, you two! Sigh.. I had so much fun; however, the most exciting part of my trip was my last night in NYC. It started out with a walking tour of the city, then...

Ain't Nothing but a Gee Thang

The Gee Wedding was very emotional. Not because of the newlyweds, but because Mama San was moving to New York.  This will be one of our last events together in San Francisco for quite sometime.  Moving to a big city like New York can be quite scary- a new job, new surroundings, etc.  Thankfully, Ro is out there and will be taking extra special care of Case. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. Love you, Cassie!

Summer with the Girls

LA was definitely our R&R spot this year. It seemed like we were there every few weeks. Since I haven't been out in quite a bit since becoming a mommy in 2001, the frequent trips to LA this year have meant so much to me. Although extremely tired and often needed the work week to recover from the weekend, the trips were well worth it. (above: On occasion, Lib will partake in a Jager shot with me. I love her!) These girl trips became a time for me to find myself again. To learn to make friends again and open myself up to meeting new people. I've been working so hard for so long at work, parenthood, and marriage that I lost sight of what made me happy. Although I did many things in 2007 that I DIDN'T like, it definitely helped me find out what I really enjoyed... ... being home with Brooklynn. Go figure.
